Handyman - picsel.app (12/2023 - Current)

This is my own project, a page where Argentine’s photographers can sell their pictures online. It was built alongside my partner berti, as a way to tackle two goals:

  • Get a good photo surfing and buy it online from my local beach photographer 😛
  • Tryout new modern stacks using HTMX (it rocks), Hono, Turso’s SQLLite and a few more things.

Here, I was in charge of the coming up with the idea, big part of the whole backend coding including a local payment gateway (Mercado Pago), backblaze photo uploads, and a little part of the frontend. I’m now only focused on convincing photographers of trying this app out and coding little features now and then (mostly on weekends).

Data Engineer – Decentraland (04/2023 – Current)

Decentraland is a virtual reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Users can create, experience, and monetize content and applications. My job is to build the data infrastructure that will support the growth of the platform and enable the business to make better decisions.

Tasks:

  • Maintain and develop Airflow Dags.
  • Maintain & optimize Airflow Infrastructure.
  • Maintain, Upgrade & develop dbt project.
  • Design & develop Meltano TAP's to extract data from multiple data sources.
  • Monitor and optimize datawarehouse infrastructure in Snowflake.
  • Maintain Metabase infrastructure

Software Engineer – Belo (08/2021 – 03/2023)

Belo is a centralized Fiat/Cryptocurrency wallet that was founded in late 2021 with the primary objective of providing users with effective tools to secure and preserve their funds, given the prevailing high inflation rates in Argentina. The company focuses on offering a high-quality UX/UI, as well as a carefully curated list of cryptocurrencies. Additionally, Belo has pioneered the first crypto mastercard in the region, demonstrating a commitment to innovation in the field of cryptocurrency.

Tasks

  • Integrated telemetry stack (Grafana/Prometheus/Tempo/Loki).
  • Integrated QR fiat payments (QR Interoperable).
  • Integrated card payments, deducted from users wallets in different cryptocurrencies according to their balance.
  • Integrated bank service to support user fiat deposits and withdrawals.
  • Built a referral system to reward users when they bring new users.
  • Built a cashback system to reward user when a card payment is processed.
  • Built compliance and fraud system to prevent users from processing more money than allowed based on business rules.

Software Engineer – Mercado Libre (08/2019 – 07/2021)

Mercado Libre is a large e-commerce platform operating in several countries in Latin America, founded in Argentina in 1999. It provides individuals and businesses with a platform to buy and sell goods and services online, and offers payment and shipping solutions to facilitate transactions. The company has expanded its offerings to include financial services, advertising, and classifieds, and is one of the most valuable companies in Latin America, listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

  • For MELI's competencia team I've Re-designed, developed, and deployed Mercado Libre main app to crawl and monitor competitor prices based in a set of MELI most important e-commerce items in Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia. Main stack (Javascript, Typescript, Go, SQL)
  • As a data engineer for MELI's data team I was involved in creating data pipelines to extract and transform data from ML's warehouses main apps to BigQuery, and to build dashboards in Tableau & Data Studio. Main stack (Go, Python, SQL, BigQuery)
  • As a software engineer for MELI Supply team, I was in charge of developing and deploying new features to ML's vendor central, including the first provider's offerings flow in the platform. Main stack: (Java, Go)

SAP BI/BW Consultant – Capgemini (04/2015 – 08/2019)

  • In charge of building end-to-end data models in SAP BW, extracting multiple transactional data from various ERP, applying transformations with ABAP (SAP Development Language), and building dashboards in SAP Business Objects, Microstrategy, and Tableau.
